CARIFY is a proud partner of the Swissloop Tunneling Team 2021, providing vehicles for the innovative ETH team to keep them mobile. The goal of the Swissloop Tunneling Team is to develop the fastest drilling robot so that the Hyperloop concept can be realized economically.

What is Elon Musk's Hyperloop concept all about?

The goal of The Boring Company, founded by Elon Musk, is to build the necessary tunnel infrastructure to enable fast, safe and convenient transportation using the Hyperloop concept. To make a large network of tunnels feasible, the company must first find innovative ways to increase the speed of tunnel constructionand reduce the cost of doing so. 

Hyperloop technology aims to revolutionize transportation and mobility of the future. A vacuum is created in a tube, the capsules float on a magnetic field and are accelerated up to 1,200 km/h.

What is the Not-A-Boring Competition?

Elon Musk has created the Not-a-Boring Competition. The competition challenges teams to find tunneling solutions and answer the question, "Can you beat the snail?" Gary, the snail, is currently drilling at a speed of 1cm/s. This is the performance to beat.

Who is the Swissloop Tunneling team?

Out of over 400 applicants, the Swissloop Tunneling team, along with 11 other teams, advanced to the finals of the competition. The team consists of over 40 dedicated students with the goal of presenting the world's fastest and most precise tunnel boring robot at the final competition in the Mojave Desert in the summer of 2021.
