CARIFY Talk with Helmut Ruhl, CEO of AMAG Group

Raffael Fiechter - mars 30, 2023

Raffael Fiechter:

Helmut, how do you see the situation for the auto industry in 2023?

For the auto industry, let's hope that the chip and war-related supply problems come to an end, and then we have a good chance that the market will be better than the 226,000 new cars sold last year.

Further, I hope that many new electric vehicles will enter the market. We already have 18% growth since last year. For this, we need enough energy and I hope that we can continue to expand solar energy and that everyone can install it at home quickly and inexpensively.

Raffael Fiechter:

Photovoltaics is an important topic for Amag, what is your strategy here?

On the one hand, we have the strategy of building photovoltaic systems on all the roofs that we have and that are suitable. That's about 80,000 square meters and we're implementing that by 2025. In addition, we have been able to integrate Helion into the Amag Group as the largest solar installer in Switzerland since the fall of 2022. This means that from now on, we will not only sell cars, not only photovoltaics, but complete solutions - energy management systems, charging stations, photovoltaic systems, heat pumps.

Raffael Fiechter:

Helmut, how do you see the chances for Auto Abos in 2023?

The market is still emerging. There will be additional providers, CARIFY is certainly one of them, offering solutions in the Auto Abo market that will be requested. We ourselves have Clyde on offer at Amag. With Clyde, we are positioning ourselves in the electromobility ecosystem. Overall, the market will certainly continue to develop, and car subscription will be one way in which customers will drive cars. Customers will buy, lease or subscribe to cars in the future.

Raffael Fiechter:

Dear Helmut, thank you very much for the good conversation!
