How does the CARIFY car subscription work?

CARIFY is a new, flexible mobility concept which gives you the opportunity to choose from a large variety of cars for a monthly all-inclusive price. You can choose your subscription length, without long-term commitment.

You are free to drive a convertible in summer and an SUV in winter. There's a baby on the way? Get a bigger car for the whole family and use a small car for your everyday life.

You can easily book your car online at a fixed monthly package price, which includes all costs except refuelling. If you would like to change your car, you can easily change or return it at the end of the selected minimum term. The perfect solution for your long-term car rental.

What is included in the price?

Everything is included in your car subscription price, except refueling – learn more on the how your car subscription works page.

All necessary repairs, motor vehicle tax, the first highway toll sticker and registration are included. We offer three different insurance packages:

• BUDGET insurance:
  - Collision: 1'500 CHF deductible per event
  - Force of nature: 300 CHF deductible per event
  - Parking damage: No additional coverage
  - 24h assistance: Switzerland/FL, no replacement car
  - Total damage: 3'000 CHF deductible

• OPTIMUM insurance (recommended):
  - Collision: 1'000 CHF deductible per event
  - Force of nature: 0 CHF deductible per event
  - Parking damage: 200 CHF deductible per event, max. 2 events per calendar year
  - 24h assistance: Switzerland/FL, incl. replacement car up to 500 CHF
  - Total damage: 1'500 CHF deductible

• MAXIMUM insurance:
  - Collision: 500 CHF deductible per event
  - Force of nature: 0 CHF deductible per event
  - Parking damage: 0 CHF deductible per event, max. 2 events per calendar year
  - 24h assistance: Europe, incl. replacement car up to 500 CHF (Switzerland/FL)
  - Total damage: 1'000 CHF deductible

This means that you are only responsible for fuel expenses and any damages that are not covered by your chosen insurance package.

What are the requirements for booking a CARIFY car subscription?

You need a residence in Switzerland, a recognized category B driver's license and a green credit check (a deposit or a different insurance package may be required in certain situations). You need to have a credit card and it needs to be on your name. Additionally for more powerful cars that are above 350 Horsepower, you need to be more than 30 years old.

It is possible to book with a foreign driving license as long as it is recognized by Switzerland. Switzerland recognizes all foreign driving licenses up to one year after you officially moved to Switzerland, after that you need to have gone to the Swiss government and swap your license for a Swiss one.

A Swiss residence of the subscriber is not a mandatory requirement for company vehicles.

I just recently moved to Switzerland, can I book a car?

First of all, welcome to Switzerland!
Yes, of course you can get a CARIFY subscription! In order to be able to register the car under your name, you need to have a residence permit in Switzerland. You can find all the information about the different residency permits here on the government website. In general, there is a lot of information for people who just moved to Switzerland on ch.ch. You’ll see exploring our country with a car is a great idea!

Can I book a car for my company?

Of course you can! In the booking process you can click on “This is a company booking” (see picture below) and fill in your company information. If you wish to get more than one car for your company, contact us directly at business@carify.com and we’d be happy to provide you with a Business Customer offer.

Do I Need My Own Insurance for a Car Subscription?

No, with a CARIFY car subscription, comprehensive insurance is already included in your monthly price. You don't need to contact an insurance company or arrange anything separately.

During the booking process, you choose from three insurance packages to match your budget and peace of mind: MINIMUM (CHF 1,500 deductible per collision, no parking damage coverage), BASIC (CHF 1,000 deductible per collision, 2 parking damage events per year included), or PREMIUM (CHF 0 deductible per collision, unlimited parking damage included).

If you want total peace of mind with zero out-of-pocket costs in the event of a claim, the PREMIUM package is the way to go.

How Much Does a Car Subscription Cost in Switzerland?

A car subscription at CARIFY starts from CHF 199 per month. That single monthly fee covers insurance, repairs, servicing, motor vehicle tax, the first highway vignette, and registration in your canton of residence. You only pay for fuel on top.

Your exact monthly rate depends on three things: the vehicle you choose, your kilometre package (750, 1,000, 1,750, 2,500, or 3,000 km per month), and the subscription term (anywhere from 1 to 48 months). Longer terms tend to bring the monthly price down. There's no entry fee, no down payment, and no hidden costs. If you drive fewer kilometres one month, the unused kilometres roll into the next. You can also upgrade your kilometre package during your subscription if your needs change.
