Mazda from cork refiner to car manufacturer

In 1920 the company Toyo Kogyo Co, Ltd. was founded. At that time it was still dedicated to the refinement of cork. In 1928, the company started to produce machine components, and shortly after that, the production of motorcycles was also started. With the entry into the motorcycle business the name Mazda was used for the first time. The name comes from Ahura Mazda, the highest Zoroastrian deity. This stands for wisdom and knowledge. The name of the deity is pronounced similarly to the name of the company founder Matsuda.

In the middle of the 1930s, the development of motorized tricycles and trucks was pushed forward. During the Second World War, as with so many car manufacturers, the switch to the arms industry took place. After the war, trucks were produced again from 1950 and in 1960 the first Mazda passenger car was produced. Mazda succeeded again and again in establishing new standards in terms of technology. For example, in 2020 Mazda won the Paul Pietsch Award for the Skyactiv-X engine technology. In addition, these vehicles also received the Technobest Award as the most innovative technological development.

Also in the field of design Mazda is always setting new standards. For example, the Mazda 3 won the World Car Award 2020 in the category Design.

Mazda on subscription - Mazda Leasing was yesterday

Buying, leasing, renting or would you rather subscribe? There are various differences between the types. With a Mazda lease, the monthly instalments are low, but there is a down payment and the monthly instalment does not reflect all costs. For example, the price does not include insurance, service and tyre change.

Buying a Mazda means high initial costs and, like leasing, only includes the cost of the car but not the cost of the surrounding services or insurance.

With a Mazda rental car, one of the differences is that you don't get your own number plate, just like when you use a car. A subscription Mazda has a license plate from your canton and you can't tell the difference between a purchased or leased Mazda.

The subscription Mazda is the most flexible way to drive a Mazda and the best way to plan your spending. You are also spared the administrative stress of insurance and cashing in.

If you have further questions about the car subscription, you will find all the important information here.

Find out what you didn't know about Mazda

Many people think the logo stands for an M, but it also comes from the fact that the designer sees an owl with open wings. The open wings stand for the open wings with which the future is received.

Did you know that Mazda is in the Guinness Book of Records with the MX-5? The MX-5 is the best-selling 2-seater sports car in the world.

But Mazda is not only convincing with the 2-seater, Mazda also won the 24 hours race in Le Mans. In addition, Mazda cars appear again and again in well-known films, such as Fast and Furious.
